So…last year, I became obsessed with Bible journaling. Obsessed, I tell you. I’ve written a little about it here and there, but I’ll give you a short version again here. I was dealing with some hard things last year, and Bible journaling changed my life. It started out with me writing in a journal and spending quality time in my Bible every morning. I was using a regular pen, then decided to use my lettering pens in my journal for the parts where I was writing out a verse. Why not? Practice my lettering, pray and learn about the Bible at the same time. Win, win…
I had come across lots of images on Pinterest where people were using watercolor in their Bibles. It was so beautiful, and I just had to learn how to do it. And so I did. I’m no expert – that’s for sure, and I remember being so nervous the first time I lettered in my Bible. I used templates for some of the art and lettering, but I wanted to use my own. That’s how my templates came to be, and I want to share them with you. You can use them as practice sheets then use your own lettering, place them under your Bible page and trace over them, or you can trace them and fill them in.
My favorite supplies to use so far are my Tombow fude (hard tip), watercolors, and I’m also trying out color pencils. Make sure to keep a piece of paper under your page, so the watercolor doesn’t soak through to the pages underneath. Here’s a quick video of one of the pages I did:
I’ll continue to add to the Templates page, so check back soon. I hope you enjoy them!
